New Bedford Community Rowing LTR Registration

We will have 2 types of Learn-To-Row choices offered for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2012.

Learn-to-Row Days will be one 2-hour slot where participants will be taught the basics of rowing equipment and terminology, row on a rowing machine (ergometer), and then get in a boat with more experienced rowers. The cost for the LTR Day is $25 and the schedule will offer 6.  A swim test should be completed prior to the class or a life jacket will be required.

Learn-To-Row Classes are 3 weeks long and meet twice a week for 2 hours. In the classes, participants will learn about rowing safety as well as more in depth information about the rowing stroke and equipment. The cost is $75 for all 3 weeks. No experience is necessary. The first LTR Class session will begin in April with subsequent LTR Classes starting the Monday after each LTR Day.  (contact us with questions). Swim tests should be completed prior to first day of class or a life jacket will be required.

Swim Test: 4 lengths of a standard pool + tread water for 5 minutes. Must be signed off on by a lifeguard or other certified personnel. **Note: Scuba cards are a suitable replacement**

Dates
We will offer 6 LTR Days and 6 LTR Classes, one each month from April to September.  The LTR Days are all Saturdays and the 2 hour time slots will be in the mornings.  The LTR Classes will meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:30 pm.  Anyone 12 or older is welcome to participate, and exceptions are possible with the approval of the Waterfront Director.
